The idea of a MOOC provides a learning outlet to many people who would not usually have the opportunity to connect. The learners can teach eachother and dive into content provides by an instructor. The bottomline is that these types of courses only produce really learning if the participants put forth the effort to actually learn. They are easy to fake and space out. A MOOC designer must embed intentional moments for authentic interaction to keep the participants engaged and involved in deep tinking/learning.

I see the difference between media and technology directly correlating to input and output. The media is the stimulus that the participants will take in and synthesize in order to create or respond via a selected technology.

Based on the continuum in figure 7.7 in Teaching in a Digital Age, my selected media is a healthy mix of objectivist, constructivist, and connectivist. There are books, discussion, ePortfolios and more.
