In "Getting Started," it is noted the that biggest road block in keeping ePortfolios going is the time it takes to continue. This is defeinitely the truth. If you do not find value in the product, then it will not be maintained. Because this is starting as an assignment, the buy in is a huge implication on whether or not students in the program will continue with this tool. Even still, desire alone does not keep a project going. I have started a few blogs, journals, daily reading schedules, photo projects, etc over my life and none of them have made it past a few months. Another thing recommened was scheduling a dedicated time to add content. This prevents pile up and creates a habit.

I truly do believe in the power of an ePortfolio beyond this program for many reasons. It will force me to dig deeper into my own learning, give me a place to store up idea, and a landing pad to house the evidence of that growth. Just within the first class session, my thinking was already shifted. The purpose is to grow and connect and the platform I was using was cool - but not easy to maniuplate, nor was it robust enough to include all the components needed for true evidence of growth.

I am excited to switch gears and make my learning visible, as John Hattie says.
